They invited us to their home to capture portraits in their environment. We had the pleasure of chasing around 3 delightful dogs in their backyard; a beautiful oasis that made us feel like we were transported far away from the city. The dogs definitely have the coolest playground in Chicago! Obi and Pete enjoyed the camera but Daisy kept barking and shying away. Carolyn and Alonzo were also great sports; they gave us as much time as needed to photograph them in their home. It was a great experience to shoot a family that included furry pets.

On a side note, it was great seeing a h.s. friend, meeting her husband and hearing of how great life has been treating her. I also want to say a big THANK YOU for being supportive of me as well and choosing Kore Films to shoot their portraits.

Months later, she loves to dance, play with her big brother and yes, she delighted us with many  smiles.

Meeting a newborn and witnessing the joy in the faces of the new parents is such a beautiful thing to behold. Mary felt very honored to have photographed this newborn on his first day of life on earth. The hospital room was filled with a stir of emotions; moments like this are what makes being a photographer a very special thing.

A couple of weeks later Mary was  invited to photograph him again as she saw before the lens, the growth of this beautiful baby boy, Nicholas.

And he just keeps getting even more beautiful. Pictures taken on Mother’s day.

Perhaps it was because the gift boxes were empty. Lesson learned. Fill them up with toys!!!

We were fortunate to embark on a travel photography project that took us on an adventure through Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota!  We missed the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone due to the weather.  However, so many pictures later and plenty of memories safely tucked in our hearts, we are already in wanderlust for the next road trip!

In catching up with our photo sessions, we wanted to share a few pictures from our magical summer shoot with this family who we had the pleasure of photographing.  We had such a great experience and who can not love a job in where you get  to meet such wonderful people!! We are the lucky ones! :)
